When it rains..it pours

So, I promised when I made this blog and this commitment to my supporters that if be as open and vulnerable as possible.
Right now, I need prayer- lots of prayer. The spiritual warfare is off the walls bonkers. Hence, when it rains, it pours.
When this week started, I just came off my best friends wedding, yay!!! Glorious occasion. Woke up Tuesday with some random itchy patches. Thought a mosquito had gotten in the house. False. Over the next four days, I've discovered I have poison oak on my face, neck, ears, shoulder, and behind my knee. I mean what. It's not like I'm mountain woman. I've been in the concrete jungle support raising away. So, that's been fun. I also have other random skin problems that Ill leave out details just know that poison oak isn't the worst of my problems..
Then, yesterday night, our Internet died. And Verizon doesn't want to fix it. They say it's fine. False. It's not. There are more other little things... But all of this is trying to overwhelm the fact that I hit 50% this week.. Praise the LORD!! Thank you faithful friends who have been praying me through this!!

Okay, so I started this blog post on Sunday, on my iphone, cuz I still have no internet. (Thanks Starbucks!) But, now two days later. I want to change the purpose of the name.  When it rains bad, it pours blessings.

I can not tell you how much I've been encouraged and God has showed up. I know all of this randomness and health is like a Job situation. But, what did Job do-keep praising the Lord. So, I'm sitting here, still praising the Lord.  I've also been hunting for him more and more though.  Friends, I need to see God daily. I need to see his hand of provision. I need to feel his hand of peace. I need to trust I'm good and I'm safe.

I think for the past weeks while support has been provided, my eyes have been focused on my circumstance. In the woes of phone calls not being answered, in the small gifts to the large gifts, to the excitement of a new city, to the fear of leaving my family. Circumstance. All circumstance. Since Sunday, God has been speaking to my heart.  Did you forget about ME?! Where am I?  Do you know me Heather?? Come sit with me...  I tell you. It's a Job situation. I have been sitting here in ashes, scratching my wounds and feeling pitiful, yet "Praising God" as best as I could with my eyes being hidden.

Now, my eyes are opening again.  My ears heard, but now my eyes see.  God has been moving in my friends to encourage me, in strangers to encourage me, and hearts to be stirred in general.  Actually, since sitting here in starbucks for the past hour I've had two Godcidences. So fun. I mean I'm not used to see people praying in starbucks...thought I was the only on in starbucks who did that....and I had a woman ask me about the traveling team bumper sticker on my laptop and we talked about churches and she might end up coming to my church. What. So crazy.  This doesn't normally happen to me which is why I just know it's God.

I want to leave you with Job 42:1-6, I feel like this is my chunk of scripture for the foreseeable future.

Then Job answered the Lord and said:
2 “I know that you can do all things,
    and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted.
3 ‘Who is this that hides counsel without knowledge?’
Therefore I have uttered what I did not understand,
    things too wonderful for me, which I did not know.
4 ‘Hear, and I will speak;
    I will question you, and you make it known to me.’
5 I had heard of you by the hearing of the ear,
    but now my eye sees you;
6 therefore I despise myself,
    and repent in dust and ashes.”

I'm repenting of taking my eyes, and my focus off of Jesus. And yeah, I do despise myself! I despise my fleshly sin and for letting sins of fear and insecurity rule my life on a consistent basis when I know better. But, I'm also reveling in his forgiveness.  He's just happy to be here for me and forgive me.

Mmm How is God pouring blessings into your life?? Take note because He is.

Heather
