So, now that the words getting out about my blog, I feel like I should address some business!
This is an authentic place. This is my life with real life struggles, praises, stories, and feelings. I can't not be me, and I can't keep what God is doing in my heart and in my life private. I, just like other people, love hearing about how God is working because it helps focus me and remind me that even if I don't feel it, God is still there. He's always present. I have a quote on the sticky notes on my computer that says "I don't want a faith dependent on if I see God move, because He is moving regardless if I take note!!" So, this blog is for me, but it's also for you. Because, even though I have a sticky note to help me remember, it is still such a faith encouragement when there are stories of God tangibly moving.
Rend Collective Experiment says it best during their video- The Campfire Experiment. "To be on a journey as God's family, experiencing the highs and lows of life, suffering and laughing together.. That's what I want. Not some holy huddle were we all pretend that everything is okay. But a real community who believes in the God of miracles, but also in the God of the trials. This is what the world needs too...."
{If you've been reading for awhile, you know I love a
good tangent. So. Rend Collective Experiment. If you've never heard of
them: 1) go buy their cd 2) upload them to your ipod, phone, or grab the
hard copy and go get in your car and drive 3) worship in the presence
of the Lord!!
Worship music is one of my most favorite things
especially while driving. It's just glorious. Right now, this band is up
there on my list. They're just so phenomenal. I might move to Northern
Ireland when I'm done with Stint becuase I'm obsessed with their vision for the church corporate. }
Anyways, that quote could not be more perfect for summing up what I would love to happen with my musings. To be authentic. To have you all experience life with me and my team, to pray with me and my team during our lows and rejoice with us in our highs.
So, there might not be great posts that are very uplifting, like the stuck or weeds post. But, that was real. I needed to write it as much as I needed to re-read it. I'll be preaching to myself hoping that maybe you can relate. God seems to work things out that way... But, there will also be joyous posts where maybe a student accepts Christ (I can only beg the Lord that would happen!!), or our disciple-ies eyes are opened to something really cool about the Lord, or my team and I have a refreshing experience with the Lord. I just hope this journey touches you as much as I know God will change me. I want to live out an authentic faith, and I invite you to read my journey thus far, and get excited with me for what's to come!
